Spreadsheet Essentials for All Professionals: Learn to LOVE Sheets

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

According to the Economist, 'The world's most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data'.

Data is often collected into a spreadsheet (you've seen the student data, the test scores, etc in sheets) and you need to be able to leverage that 'valuable resource' to work for you and help you teach others.

Do you feel intimidated by spreadsheets? If you answer yes, you are not alone. Many teachers and professional staff lack basic training manipulating data in a sheet. Yet, spreadsheets are a critical tool for working with quantitative data as a classroom educator and essential to evaluating and analyzing data. They are also an integral 21st-century tool that all students should be fluent in by the time they graduate.

In this one hour 'Sheets Essentials,' you will make your own copy of a sheet prepopulated with data so you can EASILY practice as you learn. We will cover these essential tasks:
  • Expand & Move Columns
  • Select All
  • Freeze Row
  • Sort
  • Checkboxes
  • Wrapping Text
  • Filter
  • Split & Concatenate
  • Conditional Formatting
  • Explore Tool
  • Graphs
  • Auto Average & Sum
